Just to show I do have a romantic side, I figured a top 5 list of love story films would be an appropriate post on Valentine’s Day. Here are my recommendations on best films to watch with your special someone:
5. Pretty Woman - It’s your traditional love story involving a rich guy and a hooker.
4. Amelie - It is French so the film scores points on that aspect alone and Audrey Tautou is the perfect blend of innocent and cute. It’s also funny, quirky, and beautifully stylized. You really can’t go wrong with this one.
3. Casablanca - Gorgeous backdrop of Morocco, early days of World War II, and Humphrey friggin’ Bogart. ‘Nuff said.
2. Sixteen Candles - Two words: Jake Ryan.
1. Armageddon - It’s a story about a father’s love for his daughter. A story about two young lovers. And the story about a group of individuals who love everyone enough to travel into space to stop a gigantic asteroid from destroying the planet. Yeah, it’s pretty much the greatest love story ever told.
